Lifeline Darling Downs is calling for trainees under the Queensland Government Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work provides skills development, training and job opportunities to unemployed, disengaged or disadvantaged Queenslanders through a suite of targeted skills and training programs.

Lifeline Darling Downs was successful in gaining funds for their “Step Up In To Work” project which will see 15 trainees employed for a period of six months.

During their placement, all trainees undertake formal training and assessment with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which will lead to a nationally recognised qualification in business or administration.

This is an exciting opportunity for trainees to learn new skills and discover new opportunities. Trainees will be placed at  our Containers for Change Depots and our Lifeline Distribution Centre.

“Thanks to the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work program, we are delighted to be able to offer these entry level paid traineeships. The successful trainees will be employed for six months which will provide them with the necessary skills to gain further employment”, Lifeline Darling Downs, Business Services Manager, Angela Klein said.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work funds not for profit community-based organisations to deliver projects that respond to the needs of local jobseekers and employment opportunities in their area.

You can learn more about the positions and to request an application package call 0429 068 975 or email [email protected] during business hours.

Applications close 12 September, 2020.
