In 2016 Jim and Linda lost their son Nicholas to suicide, this event rocked their family's world. At a time when everything seemed to be in a state of limbo, Linda and her family found solace and healing through walking and hiking the local trails.

Although Hike to Heal was born from one family's loss it's aim is to add value to the whole community by raising awareness about and destigmatising mental health and suicide.

In this inaugural year Hike to Heal will hold a Scavenger Hike to raise money for Lifeline Darling Downs Creative Coping Program and the whole community is invited to join in.

Hike to Heal is a self-paced event that allows people to participate anywhere and everywhere. Participants are encouraged to get outside to walk, ride or hike between Saturday 20 and Sunday 28 February 2021.

Participants are also able to complete daily challenges and win some great prizes. The aim is to raise $10,000 for the Creative Coping Program, thereby allowing this vital service to serve more people in the Toowoomba Region and south west Queensland.

Participants can hike any trail distance on any day or time between those two dates, post their photos or videos on Facebook and Instagram.

Register a team and join us on the scavenger hike virtually or locally at Mt Peel.
