As the COVID-19 crisis developed, Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld Ltd took appropriate actions to ensure the safety of customers, clients, volunteers and staff. These included establishing new workplace procedures and implementing new cleaning and safety protocols such as sneeze screens and hand sanitiser stations.

After a temporary cessation of trade due to the pandemic Lifeline Darling Downs then progressively reopened its network of retail stores with reduced hours and trading days. Revised trading hours were introduced for each shop in line with government restrictions and best practice guidelines.

As the COVID-19 crisis eases in Queensland we are pleased to announce that Lifeline Darling Downs shops will now begin operating our full trading hours. From Monday 29 June all our stores will resume their normal weekly trading hours as they were prior to the impact of COVID-19.

"We are delighted to announce that we are able to resume normal trading hours at all our retail stores and at our two Containers for Change recycling depots in Toowoomba and Dalby. This will allow our customers increased flexibility to shop at a time convenient to them including Saturdays", said Mr Tuffield, Lifeline Darling Downs CEO.

Customers will be required to adhere to current social distancing rules and hand sanitiser will continue to be available in-store. EFTPOS remains our preferred payment method.

"Having our retail stores back to full trading hours also increases our ability to support our suicide prevention and various community focused services as the profits from the stores provide much needed operational funds”, Mr Tuffield said.

Everyone is welcome in a Lifeline Darling Downs shop and we look forward to welcoming new guests, regular shoppers and clients who are looking for quality items at bargain prices.
