What would you do if you couldn't keep warm, or didn't have the money to heat your house, or couldn't put food on the table? Many people faced with unexpected circumstances and uncertain times this winter, will turn to Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld Ltd.

I want to make a difference to those struggling in our region this winter and I need your help.

The colder weather is usually accompanied by increased requests for Lifeline Darling Downs to support struggling families and individuals. The added strain of the COVID-19 pandemic will severely stretch their resources and with a little help from us, they could stretch their services to support even more people.

The need in our community has never been greater, with one in six children in Australia living in poverty and a 22% increase in the number of people seeking food support from a charity in the last 12 months. Sadly, these statistics will continue to rise, as will the need for mental health services, as the rate of unemployment increases and social isolation grows due to COVID-19.

If we work together, we can help change the story for many of the most vulnerable in our community. All donations of $2 or more made to the Share the Warmth appeal are tax-deductible and will help to keep people warm physically and emotionally this winter.

If you can spare some change, together, we can help change the story for our community this winter.
