Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland has been providing services in South West Queensland for 45 years and we are a proud member of the communities we operate in.  

Our organisation doesn't just provide free counselling, suicide prevention and other community services; we also operate 15 retail stores with outlets in Toowoomba, Warwick, Stanthorpe, St George, Tara, Dalby and Charleville.  Our stores sell a range of items including clothing, books, furniture and collectables.

Every day we receive a large volume of quality pre-loved donations which our staff and volunteers carefully sort.

Those donations are then provided to families in need or sold and recycled to generate the resources required to deliver our free community services to the residents of South West Queensland.

Through this process, individuals and families are able access affordable, quality items that have the added bonus of giving back to the local community. All of our customers and clients are assured that the money they are spending with Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland is supporting local employment and training opportunities as well as providing funds which allow us to provide community services such as family counselling. 

We are incredibly grateful for every donation we receive in our many donation bins across south west Queensland.

Our donation bins are made to withstand the elements and weather the storms, however, from time to time they need some maintenance and TLC in order to remain operational. Sometimes this requires minor maintenance and other times a full renovation.

Just this weekend we were thrilled to have the members from the Lions Club of Toowoomba West drop past our depot to give nine of our ageing bins a makeover. The bins had previously had some fresh metal work completed by our long-time supporter Peter Holmes at the end of 2019. However, the team from the Lions Club rolled up their sleeves to scrape, sand and spray these bins back to life.

The support of the Lions Club, Peter Holmes and many others will help us continue to provide a high-quality service to our community and allow our community to donate their pre-loved items rather than sending them to landfill. Thanks for everything team!

Don't send your unwanted goods to landfill, help your community and donate them to us!

You can donate material goods like clothing, books, furniture, blankets, household items and bric-a-brac directly to our Lifeline shops. Even if they are not working, we are able to take and recycle white goods including fridges, freezers, and washing machines, gas appliances, and metal products.

Please be aware that certain items cannot be accepted. We do accept the following: 

• sofas, lounge suites, armchairs
• tables, chairs, desks
• cabinets
• beds, bedroom furniture
• televisions, stereo systems, washing machines

It is also important to note that swing sets, trampolines, large beds, and bunk beds will need to be dismantled by customers before donating.

Items can be dropped off at our donation bins or at 192A Stephen Street, Toowoomba (Lifeline Distribution Centre) between 8am and 4pm pm, Monday to Thursday.
