What would you do if you couldn't keep warm?

What would you do if you couldn't keep your family warm? How would you stay safe if you didn't have a home to shelter in? Where would you turn if you couldn't put food on the table?

When faced with unexpected circumstance and uncertain times, many people across the south west turn to Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld Ltd.

With winter approaching we are preparing for more requests for support from vulnerable members of our community.  As the temperatures drop many individuals and families need some extra assistance to keep themselves warm and fed.

The need has never been greater.

In 2020 COVID-19 had an enormous impact on food security and the number of Australians seeking weekly food relief doubled. Twenty-eight per cent of people experiencing food insecurity in 2020 had never experienced it before.

Demand for food support remains high with many people still needing assistance to keep themselves and their families fed.  Worryingly, up to 43 per cent of Australians experiencing food insecurity right now are going a whole day without eating at least once a week.

If we work together, we can help change the story for many of those in our community who will struggle this winter.

We need your help.

Your donation will make the world of difference to a person or a family in need. You'll not only be keeping people warm, but filling hungry bellies and connecting people with professional counselling and material support.

Or you can create your own fundraiser and involve your friends, family and colleagues in raising additional funds in support of this appeal. Every donation helps and we need your tax-deductible donations to ensure we are there when we are needed most.
