Community Recovery
Lifeline has been recognised in Queensland as providing an important contribution as a counselling organisation and in some districts has been specifically designated as coordinating counselling on behalf of the Disaster District Community Recovery Committee. It may be that in specific committees the Lifeline representative will be asked to accept other tasks but our primary function remains with counselling and outreach tasks. Counselling may include active listening; defusing;basic support;assessment for referral;visitation; crisis intervention; short, medium or long term counselling.
