The Chronicle / Lifeline Bookfest - 2011
The 2011 Chronicle / Lifeline Bookfest will be held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds, Glenvale Road, Toowoomba Qld on 5 & 6 March 2011.
This will be our 31st Annual Toowoomba Bookfest and will be held in the "Founders Pavilion" at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. The "Founders Pavilion" held the un-priced books with nothing over $5.00 and a display of "Collectable Books".
Approximately 60 tonnes of books and magazines will be available for the public to browse through over two wonderful days. The Bookfest opens On Saturday and Sunday at 8.00am sharp. It closes at 5.00pm on Saturday and 2.00pm on Sunday. The target for the 2010 Chronicle / Lifeline Bookfest will be to raise $52,500.00 Valuable dollars for Lifelines work in Toowoomba, on the Darling Downs and South West Queensland. Interesting Information: We hire 400 tables for the Bookfest.
We require 5 working days for the set-up (7.30am to 9.00pm).
We store the books in 6 X 20ft cargo containers.
Approximately 18,000 people attend the two day Bookfest.

Centenary Heights State High School Interact Club 2011 Food Donation 3,435 Food Items:
On Tuesday 1st June Derek was presented with 3,454 food items from the students of year 8-12 at Centenary Heights State High School as part of their annual food donation to Lifeline. This is the 8th Year the Interact Club has supported our Emergency Relief Service. Teacher Mrs Sandy Feldsman is the chief organiser and Derek presented Sandy with flowers on behalf of our wonderful organisation.
OLD FASHION MORNING TEA: Held Friday 4 June 2010: On the 4th June Rosemary Morley and Maureen Orford held a very successful fundraising “High Tea” to raise valuable dollars for our Emergency Relief Service. This occurred at HumeRidge Church Hume Street from 10.00am to Noon. Almost 100 people attended the event which has raised almost $3,000.00 for the purchase of 100 blankets for distribution by our Emergency Relief Service.
